DIY Travel: Trip to Batu Caves

Lord Murugan (Hindu God)
During our first day in Kuala Lumpur, Jimson and I left at 7AM and headed to Putra station(few minutes walk from our hotel) going to Batu Caves. The Batu Caves is located in the northern part of Kuala Lumpur and it is well known a Hindu Shrine.

If your coming from KL Sentral- buy your train tickets to KTM Kumoter counter and then proceed to flatform-3. Batu Caves is the eight station from KL Sentral, trains leave every half an hour.
Once you arrived in Batu Caves station and  on your way out from train station look for this Green statue on the left side for the nearest entrance.
Batu Caves probably the largest Hindu Shrine outside of India. An Indian shrines likes Buddhists shrines typically they are presenting a unique visual colorful images.

TIPs:
  • Batu Cave is free admission.
  • Advisable to come early to avoid huge crowd and midday sun.
  • In case you bring some food/water, hide it away from monkeys, otherwise a bunch of monkeys will start following you.
  • A 272 steps to reach the temple cave.
  • There's not a lot more to see inside, therefore one hour exploration will be enough (for me I was a bit dismayed when I enter the cave), so yeah! I wont be posting more batu caves photos just go there and see for your self :)
That's it! hope you enjoyed this place after your visits. You can track back your way out to train station.
